They were on the 15.47 from Lime St. so didn't hang around for long after the game. Standard class, changed at Crewe.
Cheers eastie. Did their WAGs join them at Crewe?

Wouldn't like to say, they're entitled to their privacy.

We struggled to get over the line today against a poor Everton side.  Watkins I am starting to think is not the real deal, Mings how many balls he let go over him rather than try and do the easy thing and get shot early, Magic showed in patches and it was our two Argentina players who made the difference.   Suppose it goes to show how we are improving in that when we do play iffy we can still win.

What tosh

What is the bane of he new coutinho song

He went to Barca, he won the league in Spain
He went to Munich and
Game of two halves. Me moved the ball well first half and should have been a couple up. DF made subs and went for hoof ball and we got dragged into it. Buendia is some player and will only get better.
Be sad to see Goodison go as it’s a proper ground.

It is a a real throwback but the views from the lower tier in the away end are awful. We could barely see any action down the right touch line towards the Gladwys street end. It will be a shame to move from a historic ground though.

The city centre after was banging - loads of bars near the Cavern overflowing with punters for the Mersey / Beatles experience. At 4pm it was like a holiday resort. I hadn’t been to Liverpool for about 3 years and I’d forgotten how friendly it is. Everton fans seem convinced they are going down and they remind me of us a few years back when we were listless.

A good win, a good but long day out from London, but not a game to stick in the scrapbook.

Just watche the highlights if you could call them that. Looked quite intense but low quality from what I could tell. Really pleased with the 3 pts though as I thought Everton might sneak the win. Well done Villa, nice to see us be able to grind out a win and a clean sheet into the bargain. Was Chukwuemeka any good when he replaced Coutinho?

He wasn't really involved which I think was more a function of the game being played away from his patch.

I was worried by the long ball and corners, we are not an overly tall defence, was happy when he bought Hause on.

An Everton fan arrested following bottle throwing incident.
I would say throw the book at him but 2 wrongs don't make a right.
He wouldn't know what to do with it.
But as a matter of interest, why would throwing the book at someone for breaking the law and endangering somebody be a wrong?

I read it as a joke.  He threw a bottle, they throw a book back. Hence "two wrongs".  I don't think he was genuinely  suggesting they go leniently.
Ah, of course. My fault, apologies.

I can’t think of a time over the last 12 years when we would have won that game. We played it like it was a local derby because we knew that was how they would play with their new manager. I thought it was a great performance, not beautiful, but full of fight. Long may it continue.

Unfair on Watkins (and Ings too for that matter) cos he’s not getting the service he got last season. Mings was good in my opinion and Emi didn’t have that much to do despite Everton’s so called pressure

I think Everton are more like us in 10/11 than 15/16. Yes they are under performing but I think they have the quality to get enough wins on the board. Would be astounded if they went down. Still rather be in our shoes than theirs.

I think they’ve got the players but do they have the team? A lot of money has been spent by a succession of managers but they were playing like an Allardyce team in the second half. A lot depends on their next appointment.

The link up for Watkins off side header was mesmorising.

Good solid win. We could have done with getting a second goal and we'll need to work on that because other teams won't be as wasteful with their chances like Everton were. Buendia and Mings the pick of our players I thought.

What a cross as well, on his weak foot, absolutely perfect.

Regarding playing it like a derby that's exactly what it was like, a game against the rags, complete with dickhead home fans.

I'm really concerned about our forward options at the moment though. Offside or not, Watkins should have buried that header, and he should have stuck that one away just before Pickford knocked him over. How long does Gerrard give Watkins and Ings before he starts thinking we need better?
