Why is the best that we can hope for a draw?

Reminder that they lost three home games in a row last season, six in total and four without scoring a goal, including losses to Burnley and Brighton, and Fulham who got relegated.

Of course we can beat them.

I'm not saying we definitely will, but it's doable.

2-1 Villa, FTF!

That was last season, they are much better this season. For me there the team to beat for the title, however, maybe Christmas is in the air and i had to much to drink last night, with a bit of Gerrard factor mixed in. I fancy us, 3-2 (Ollie (2), Beundia).

We battered them at home and gave them a game when we were in poor form at their place.

We have a bit of a psychological edge on them unlike most of the usual suspects, and Watkins has 4 in 2 games against them.

We've got to use that to our advantage.

And then we came to town.......

Plus they are in pretty frightening form at the moment. Only blunted by Brighton lately.

Ergo, we'll win. Ickso fatso.

They're in very good form, but so are we.  After seeing the second half of the Man City game I'm sure they will NOT be looking forward to playing us, so it's absolutely crucial that we don't give them an easy time in the first 20-25 mins.

The good news is, given Gerrard's time on Klopp's coaching staff, that we will never have a manager better prepared to take them on tactically.  It will be interesting to see if he tweaks our set-up, or whether it's more of a "this is how my Aston Villa teams play" situation.

Right now, I'd snap your hand off for a point and keeping our momentum.

This for me also

We cannot allow them to score early - we certainly need a fit Targett on his game against Salah as i fear he would rip Young a new arsehole

Yes we need to get into them from the off.

We've been lucky playing starting slowly against average sides. You can start slowly and not be punished or lose the game. But vs Man City we went 2-0 down and if do it again vs Liverpool it will be exactly the same and the game over. That has to the critical message this weekend.

I've just been watching the highlights of the Benteke backheel game. Bit slower then, weren't it. It's like watching a pre-training warm-up.

In Newquay for this one.

Don’t suppose anyone knows of a pub there that shows 3pm KOs?

I’ve often just taken my iPad with me when I’ve been away, and just tried to find a dodgy stream in a pub with decent wifi.

Anything from this and we will go into next week's fixtures on the up and hopefully take 6 points from them.  This is not a free swing.
