Borja Baston seems to be scoring a few for Real Oviedo currently.

wonder why he never got a chance with us? it was a time we had such a shite set of strikers. Probably fitness.

Ally and Keinan looked better than him at the time and they were both better integrated into the squad than he was.

He came on one day for us...I'm being very harsh but he truly looked like he won a competition to play for us. Swansea's record signing too I think

That was against Spurs, wasn't it, in the Bjorn Engels game?

Today highlights one of the things i didnt like about smith your playing against ten and losing to the worst team in the league.

Shocking result if ends like this

It has all the hallmarks of the worst Smith performances, sub championship quality from Norwich with the perfect chance

That performance reminded me of that humiliating sheffield united loss under smith.

Lucky for smith pukki saved his bacon. He is pretty useless against 10 men for some reason.

I was thinking about this - I just because he’s not very good at adjusting in games.

TBF pukki and Aaron aside I don’t think many of them are any good

The Norwich job was only available because they’d sacked their manager after a crap start to the season and were near the bottom of the league, that’s what he inherited. Their main creative players, Cantwell and Rashica, were unavailable tonight and they struggled against a packed defence. They’ll probably go down but not because of Dean Smith but because their squad just isn’t good enough for this league.

How he fails to win so often v 10 men is pretty incredible though,

Can think back to first season we came up and we drew 0-0 with West Ham at home when they had Zabaleta sent off after 65 minutes. Fair enough that can happen.

Then next game we were 2-1 up at Arsenal who were down to 10 and lost 3-2 conceding twice in last 10 minutes.

We then played Watford away over the xmas period. Were 1-0 down, think they had Doucoure sent off.....and they err scored twice in five minutes and won 3-0.

Last season of course we couldn't even score v Sheffield United when they had someone sent off after 50 minutes. And tonight a different team couldn't beat a bottom of table side despite playing pretty much entire game v 10.

I like DS. I thought it was time to go but wish him all the best and him keeping Norwich up would be arguably biggest achievement of his career.

However most managers win ratio v 10 men is probably in 80 + %. DS must be below 50%, certainly in last 4-5 years so suggests some limitations to his managerial style as Norwich were largely terrible tonight.

I agree with you about that but my point was that we saw this kind of performance too many times under Dean, especially against 10 men - a real lack of intensity and players not moving the ball quickly enough.
That was a huge chance for Norwich tonight but you'd never have guessed that from the performance.

Good post.

Its unbelievable out of all those games he failed to win any and actually lose!!

Embarrassing.  That watford one was absolutely pathetic and i was raging with smith after that.

The Sheffield utd one though for me was by far the worst. They were useless and he couldnt even score past them with 10 men. Im.hoping these kind of results are in the past for us
