Two realistic chances to win a trophy every season.

I’ll never understand the modern psyche that they’re not important.

Always remember hearing a Wigan fan on the radio when asked would you rather have stayed up than win the FA Cup. He said, “I can’t imagine telling the grandkids all about the year we finished 17th - I will be able to tell them how we won the Cup at Wembley though.

Trophies. That’s what it’s all about, for me.
Totally agree. I think its possibly a generational thing but younger fans don't get anywhere near as misty-eyed about the cups as older fans do - the thought of playing weakened sides in FA Cup quarterfinals in front of half-full stadiums and reduced ticket prices would have been rightly unthinkable back in the day. No-one will EVER tell me the game is the better for it.

I lived in Leicester in early 90s when Brian Little was manager and tickets were plentiful for league games but distinctly recall popping to ground a few days before to nab a couple for a game v Bristol City in FA Cup 4th round. Sold Out.

The league cup was always a bit after the Lord Mayors Show. I am more bothered about how they have completely undermined the FA Cup.

Tricky draw. I do like it going straight to pens straight after 90 minutes. We're a club that tends to do o.k historically in them.

Would expect AEG, Traore and Buendia all to start tonight so would have those three behind Ollie and see how it looks. Shows how much more depth we have this year when you think three of those didn't start in the league.

Looking forward to it. Chelsea will rotate so think we have a good chance of going through if we score first.

Well i hope we take it seriously for once even if we look like players are missing all over the place again. Saw the Liverpool game down the pub last night and that team Norwich put out was embarrassing. You're going down anyway. Why throw a chance for a trophy?

I'd rather lose in the final than lose in this round. For one thing, it would mean we beat Chelsea.

I think the FA Cup is easier to win now. The Sky 6 have got lots more on their plate in the latter stages of the FA Cup.

Not really borne out by the list of winners in the last 20 odd years, with only three clubs (Portsmouth, Wigan, Leicester) winning outside of Liverpool, Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. Still, our year this year etc.

It is like everyone coasts to the semi finals & then if they find themselves still in it, then it gets serious. I include us in that.

I guess if you watch SSN you'll see the goals just after they're scored.
