Watching Villa from overseas
« on: December 04, 2020, 05:51:50 AM »
Hello all,

I remember a few years ago (so when we were in the Championship) there was a service that allowed the forrins to watch all our matches as they happened. Now that we're in THE PROMISED LAND, I assume that that's not possible.

Now that I'm a forrin, do any similar forrins have any hints, tips or swerves to assist a keen nuevo Latino in joining the suffering in real time?

I'm also open to PMs explaining how to use VPNs (I know what they are, just not what it is that they are or do) to access all manner of Blighty content.

Saludos

Fortunately here we have DAZN and for $150 a year I get every PL and CL game. Also carries all NFL games. Selected FA Cup matches and Bundesliga are shown on regular TV. I hope I never again have to scour the darkest regions of the Internet for a grainy, crackly feed of Villa vs Barnsley.

I would check out first what cable packages are available there. Simiar to what TV wrote, in Poland I pay a tenner a month or something and get to see every Premier League game. VPNs just changes the location of your internet address. So if you set it to the UK you can watch BBC iplayer for example or watch sky sports if you subscribe to Now TV. I would suggesst paying for one if you get a VPN - they work much better.

Thanks both. Sky Mexico have the PL rights here but my español isn't yet up to the standard required to understand the T&Cs (I'll need them to do a digital sub as we have no TV), and my in-house translator, Mrs SE,will just tell me it's a waste of Pesos. I'll win her over with charm, guile and lies, hopefully!

You may have missed the below fever dream revealed in the wake of the West Ham disaster. Considering you are now in situ as planned, can you confirm or deny the following?

Stockley Park...West London Warehouse... Any chance Sexual Ealing can quickly dash back from Heathrow, explaining to the missus that he "forgot some of our things"; promptly indulge in a bit of arson as his last notable act on British soil before escaping to a new life in Mexico as planned? It would make for a great ending to the movie version of H&V.
VAR - for God sake, burn it down.

Ah, sorry mate. I try not read the post-match when we've lost. I've let everyone down.

I did torch the west coast of the US the other month if that's any use?

Hey S.E. I reckon you’ll have a great time in Meckico. I spent 3 months in South America about 15 years ago- fantastic.

WRT the football, I’m in Aus now and got a mobile plan with Optus. They’ve got EPL rights in Aus and I get all the matches through Optus Sport. Can only view on a mobile device, but that’s good enough for me.
I would recommend seeing if there are any similar deals from the mobile carriers in Mexico. Should be fine if you are near WI-FI. Not sure what the coverage is like over there - it’s patchy here (night games are usually watched on the train to work) but if it’s on the Wifi streaming is fine.

All the best hombre!
