I considered Daley and Young. Ashley Young was one of the most exciting players we have ever had. Shame he ended up going on to become just a bit part player, usually out of position, for those twats. In fairness, he never got the respect he deserved from quite a lot of Villa fans, too. Certain segments of our support have a deep suspicion of flair players.
His insisting on playing as the playmaker, taking every free kick badly and diving to get a penalty against us could also be a factor.

Birthdate - 26/04/1987

Started Supporting - 1993

Manager/Coach - Dean Smith

Keeper - Bosnich

RB - Hutton
CB - Laursen
CB - Mings
LB - Wright

RM - Milner
CM - Barry
CM - Merson
CM - Grealish
LM - Young

CF - Angel

I was too young to appreciate McGrath, old enough to hate Southgate for leaving. Delaney was close to getting in at RB, Staunton and Bouma close at left back. Petrov and McGinn could have midfield starters but Merson and Grealish at the best players I’ve seen down the Villa. Benteke, Yorke, Carew and Gabby were all great but there was something about Angel I just love.

1960

1966

Ron Saunders

Spink
Gidman Mcgrath Evans Staunton
Cowans Mortimer Platt Cropley
Shaw Withe

Subs
Bosnich
Southgate Nicholl
Rioch Graydon
Little Gray

Putting Ray Graydon in as a midfielder is a bit of a cheat, but as a winger who could cross the ball and score goals he'd be a must on the bench.  Probably one of the most influential and underrated players in our recent (well, recent to me) history.

Born: 1990

Started supporting: I'd say 1997, first game 2001.

Manager: Jesus I guess it has to be MON as I can't claim to have really known what was going on with managers in Brian's day. I'll go with Deano to compromise because I like him.

Withe, Shaw

Subs - Friedel, Teale, Barry, Townsend, Richardson, Young, Saunders, Yorke

Born 1980 and started going in about 1985, so only gone for players I can remember watching:

                            Bosnich

Barrett         McGrath         Southgate       Staunton

                    Cowans          Townsend

Daley                          Platt                      Merson

                                  Yorke

Manager - Graham Taylor

Could have quite easily gone for Laursen over Southgate, Barry over Townsend and Ashley Young over Merson, so they are on the bench.

Bench:

Spink
Laursen
I Taylor
A Young
Barry
Milner
Dublin
