Honourable mention for a Villa legend who never actually played for Villa. Bosko Jankovic who died at the age of 42.

Scored two goals when Middlesbrough beat Ipswich in 1981, the day we won the league.

He went on to study and practice law. I thought he died in a car crash but Wikipedia says he died of 'natural causes'.

Died of natural causes, aged 42, during a civil war. Hmmm.

Horrible news about Whitts, a talented player who could cover three different positions with no problems.

Such utility players are hard to find, so I think MO'N should have kept him, rather than let him go for a pittance. Made the winning goal for GB in O'Neill's first home game with a perfectly-placed cross from the left.

Oh, and he was supposed to be a smashing lad as well.

So why do the good die young?

Yes I remember that Reading game like it was yesterday still how 14 years has flown by since i will never know! where he whipped it in for Barry to score the winner, I was sat in the stands perfectly in line with where he crossed it from so had the best view possible.

I know he died by falling in a pub but have they said how or why it happened? it was reported as if its just an everyday occurance and death by pub is a regular thing but surely its not.

Hi Kim.

Apparently, the police are to conduct an inquiry into PW's death early next year.

Dying from falling down stairs is a more common occurrence than you might think.

Especially if a bit tipsy. A bloke at our place died going down the steps at new street after a Friday night session in town.

I'm sure I remember a stat of it being about 1 person a day nationwide. It was possibly one of the first things I ever looked up on the internet, a bit of research inspired by a feckless layabout I had the misfortune to house share with at the time that used it as an excuse not to go to work at least once a month, every month. Falling down the stairs, that is. Not the dying bit.

In our local paper there was an article about a bloke who had died after falling down the stairs at Wetherspoons in Bournemouth whilst on a stag do.  Apparently he was the third person over recent years to die in that manner in the premises!

Heart breaking - just goes to show you just never know when your time is up

On a serious note - the majority of us will run to the pubs for an almighty bender once they open normally. Makes you realise we all need to be careful
