Would throwing Louie Barry on the bench tomorrow be a good or bad idea (that's if he's illegible anyway)?

Liuoe Brary?
Think he means eligible  ;)

Haha, good spot. I'm always half asleep first thing in the morning.

I had a dream (lie, delusion).

Late in the game, 2 minutes left and it is 2-2. Villa are on the attack but get thwarted by a great Walker tackle. City, they attack with pace on the counter, it's Sterling, then Aguero...!!!! 3-2!!! But wait, ref indictes a VAR review for a foul back in the City box... Minutes pass.... Goal overruled, pen to Villa!! Walker didn't get the ball!!!

Grealish steps up in the dying embers...

I wake up in my seat due to the drunken stupor I'd gotten myself into.. Check the scoreboard... 4-0 City with 20 minutes to play and I've pissed my pants.

It'll be grand day out. 4.30 - 6.30 might be a bit painful but it'll be like going back home (5 times in 6 years). As long as the players give 110% and try not to give the ball away in crucial areas, then thats all that we can ask. We would have beaten Real Madrid by more than one goal anyway.

What team are we expecting tomorrow, gents? If Smith carries through with his threat to drop a few of them could it be the following.....replacement options are very limited...

---------------Nyland
Elmo, Engels, Mings, Targett
Trez, Luiz, Nakamba, Hourihane, Jack
---------------Samatta

Let's face it, we're not overwhelming favourites to win this Final. However, nor were we in May 1957, May 1982 and February 1994. In our favour this is a one-off game, and with the correct attitude and commitment and if we can keep the scoreline competitive into the last 20 minutes you never know. Manchester City may have just won away at Real Madrid but aren't averse to their occasional slip-ups. Let's hope tomorrow will be such an occasion.
My heart may be over ruling my head but I'm going for a 3-2 Villa win.

Watched the 1975 League Cup win today. I remember it was on March 1st, so 45 years ago tomorrow. I can remember also how good it was following Villa back then as we were on the verge of a great era. I had forgotten how good Nicholl and Ross were at the back that day and never gave Norwich a sniff.
Just hoping we at least give them a game tomorrow and any chance we have will be built on our defence.
I met Ian Ross many years ago (I think he was an asst coach at Wolves back then) and we talked about that game and I asked him what it was like to lift the trophy at Wembley.
Happy days.

See it being a long afternoon. We just wont be able to cope with their midfield. 4-1 City sadly

And back to more important matters thereafter

One hope I have is that it can be very difficult raise your game, emotionally, after such a great win, a few days later.  Following their fantastic win at Real Madrid, I hope that this is the case for Manchester City. Straw firmly grasped.

I want to see one of the midfiled put in a crunching tackle in the first few minutes & one of centre half's smash into the back of a forward. Let them know that it's going to be fight. We can't stand off them like we did at Villa Park.

This might be the only time most of these players get to a major final, let's give it a go.

We might only beat them one in twenty games but it's not impossible...

He'll play Nyland I hope. I'd put Elmo back in as well personally.

I just hope we give them a good game. I'd like to say I'll enjoy the day regardless but memories of 2000 and 2015 aren't great to be honest. Will be one of the great days in our history if we pull it off, we can dream.

Elmo is a Championship player for me. Guilbert is a player I like a great deal and he did very well with Sterling up at their place.
