I hope it's just a nasty rumour. That's what it looked like on the television, in fact the whole Villa bench and coaching staff looked totally disengaged from any tribute that may (or as it looked may not) have been taking place.Everyone of them were chatting whilst applauding. Dean Smith too.Disrespectful twats all of them.

It was a total shambles that left me seething. The greatest manager we've ever had to be disrespected like that was something I won't forget.I do not like this minute's applause nonsense anyway, a minute's silence would have been far more appropriate and you'dve actually heard the referee's whistle.Shame on you Aston Villa.
I listened on WM and was left puzzled when the game kicked off so quickly. I don't think anyone was intentionally disrespectful but the organisation was half arsed. The problem with a minutes applause is that it is uncontrolled leading to confusion as to the start and end. It's so sad that people are unable to observe a minutes silence due to the actions of a few clowns, we've effectively let them win. I've said before that the act of keeping quiet for a minute is so much more difficult than making noise but then that gives the tribute itself more gravitas and is easily identifiable via the refs whistle. Never mind, it's done now I suppose.I think a match dedicated to Saunders is the order of the day, perhaps towards the spring, a Sat 3pm KO. Keep any applause until the 80/81st minutes as yesterday, introduce the ex players etc and do it properly.
