Southampton away - start of the 82-83 season we lost 1-0 (I think) about 300 - 400 Villa there.

Remember after the game being escorted by the police to the coach park, and the police telling the Southampton fans to wind up their windows, as we may spit into their cars!

I  remember being on holiday in Paris for that and learning the score up the Eiffel tower.

IIRC a kid from our estate was in the C Crew and that day Man U played at the Albion. A number of the C Crew had got on well with some Man U fans during that summer's world cup so they went to join them at their game instead of going to Southampton.

Chelsea away New Years Day 1990 was a small following. I think the support was in the 100's rather than 1000"s. A bitter freezing day, made better by  3-0 win.

You're mistaken about Chelsea in 1990. I was there and we filled about 2/3 of the large curved away terrace which would mean about 5000 I reckon. There must be some footage on YouTube.

Leeds away in I think 91-92, a terrible 0-0 draw from recollection and a following of about 400-500.

I can recall going to that. Is that when the away fans were still on the Lowfields Road side of the ground with the East Stand being built above them?  I can remember a dire game but I don't remember the away following being particularly low.

That was Dean Saunders’ debut a year or 2 later? I went up for that, nil-nil, Sunday afternoon. Thought we had a decent following

We were in the Lowfields stand for Deano's debut early in the 1992-1993 season. Garry Parker scored for us in the first half, Deano put the ball in the net at some point but it was disallowed and Steve Hodge got a late equaliser for Leeds.

Damo is right Deanos debut was the 92/93 season and we were robbed. I think the 91/92 game may also have been a rearranged fixture hence the low turnout, from recollection we only had one pen and it was half empty.

Fenerbache and Gornik Zabrze in UEFA cup 77-78. There were about forty at each game, mainly the same people.
Newcastle in 76-7 ( I think), there were 110 on the special (I counted them) and some of those were women from the Rugeley area, taking advantage of a cheap day trip back to the North East to see relatives ( husbands were Geordies who worked at Lea Hall pit.

A lost more went turkey than Poland   I was on the official trip when Alan cox ex semi pro and travel organiser of the London lions took me along promising my mum that he would look after me. I remember he was staggering back to the hotel first night.

The gormik game perhaps only 40 or 50.   Some domestic games such as boro, Leeds , West Ham etc not many more

Boiling hot day as I recall. Justin Fashanu taking lots of stick. I hate to think what was being said  Don’t recall a low following but the Dell was small particularly in the away end

My dad and sister went to Gornik. I've still got a pennant somewhere that they bought over there.
