I said before that he’s at best a back up footballer. And that’s when he is fully fit. Throwing him into a fast paced game vs a very desperate Man City…well it turned out as it did. But in truth he’s not the only squad player we have in midfield right now. With the exception of Ramsey who will get better they all are.
If the score went the same way and we hadn’t of made this substitution we would have said why didn’t we shut up shop and put Nakamba on.

It was a very logical sub to make. 2 up with twenty minutes left is a very strong position to be and pretty much every manager would've put on a DM for an attacking player to condense space.Nakamba tries hard but I was a bit bemused by all this fawning about him during his injury like he was the second coming of Kante. He had some good games at start of Gerrard's reign but that's a very small sample size considering he's been here three years.Think bigger error was not putting Sanson on at same time as his energy would've been very useful to get around the pitch but he obviously has no future here now.Nakamba only has 12 months left so we will probably let him go otherwise he just blocks Tim's progress.

Then again we’ve always said that and still not managed it.
He’s doing a great job giving a lot of development back to his roots….https://www.chronicle.co.zw/watch-work-begins-at-nakamba-sports-centre/
