The best way to shut up even the most obscure TV/radio/internet skeptic about who and what we are is to do it on the pitch year after year. Win things. And even then the focus goes from not knowing who we are to, why aren’t we winning more or enough. Criticism and controversy sells even if it comes out of the mouths of nobody we should be giving a fuck about. The more we win the more everyone will know about us. We just haven’t done enough of that for a long time.

I wondered why Aston Villa was trending last night on Twitter. Most odd as we didn't have a game. On clicking through I was then confronted with a wall of Portuguese with mentions of this Neto and our Douglas.

Not even on the bench in yesterday's 3-1 win in Venezuela. You'd think they might agree to send him back before the last game if he's not going to make the squad, or is that too much like applying common sense?

Saving him for the last match, perhaps?

I thought he was left out of their squad?

Called up to replace Casemiro.

... and he stayed there. Finished 0-0 to end Brazil's 100% group record. They will still piss qualification, though.

I am probably on my own but I think he's completely over-rated. I am sure he'd be great for Liverpool or Man City but he's not right for us.  Way too lightweight.

He’s a great player, just not in this abject formation.

Christ...he was probably our best player tonight! McGinn looked like he had won a competition to play next to him...We have to play with 3 in midfield.

Wouldn’t be sorry to see him leave, Good games far outweighed by mediocrity in his time here.

You do realise that we have to play with 3 in midfield because Luiz is too lightweight to command the midfield don't you?
