... He has certainly got better in the air this year but he seemed to be beaten by Jota at that set piece at the weekend...
I made a point on another thread that we lack really top-notch heading defensiveness (Burnley away and Wet Spam away being 2 examples that spring to mind). I'd like to see someone come in that could potentially offer that, have the development value that Konsa has and offers a genuine alternative to Mings. It would also offer more flexibility of set-up (if, for example, we wanted to go for a back 3 - as several other top-10 teams do more or less).

I sometimes think we miss having a striker who is really good in the air in these situations. Remember how many times Carew, Benteke, even Tammy last season would clear corners and free kicks for us.

We're at the top of the chart for fewest goals conceded from corners I think.

Which hopefully puts it in perspective. We're talking margins, which is similar to a lot of our players. The very best players make fewer but Mings, alongside the rest of the defence are pretty damn good generally.

Tammy is fantastic at defending corners.

I'd say Hause is right up there in terms of top notch heading defensiveness.

Agreed, he is brilliant in the air. Surprised a decent championship team hasn't come in for him yet, seems to be injured a bit though.

I doubt we'd entertain it, he's a perfectly adequate back up because he's bloody good at his primary role.

Club are reporting that Tyrone has been on the receiving end of some pretty vile racist abuse via social media.

Goes without saying that there is no place for it in society and I am massively thankful to have an ambassador like him represent the club and the game in general with his fabulously measured and articulate manner.

I’m not sure why footballers bother with social media, whether it’s them or a company running it.

No doubt little will happen to the vermin who sent him that message.

He needs locking up for a couple of years, so we’ll see how big and brave he is without a keyboard.

Not being critical but it’s too easy to say they shouldn’t bother with social media. I used it but never grew up with it. These players and kids now; it’s all they have known. You’re never going to get them all off it. We need to find a way of getting these fuckers off Twitter for example, and allow those who use it respectably a platform to do so safely.

We can criticise his play (and I have), but he's a giant of a character.

Absolutely this. He makes errors now and again but I’m delighted we have him. I honestly don’t know what goes through the heads of some of these imbeciles. I’m glad I’m in my fifties and never used social media, only the odd forum such as this, but as others have said the younger generation have grown up with it and shouldn’t have to put up with such disgusting comments. Unfortunately I don’t see it ending any time soon.
