I've seen Bruce say McGinn was probably his best ever signing but I'm sure I've read somewhere that it was the owners who wanted to bring him in and Bruce was reluctant. Has anybody else seen similar?

Think Celtic were set to sign McGinn at the time but were penny pinching with Hibs so we swooped in to get him. It was one of the reasons Brendan Rodgers cited for leaving Celtic later on. It may have been Bruce, we were heavily linked to an Aberdeen centre half whose name escapes me that summer too, so obviously we were scouting the Scottish league.

Hope SJM performs well tonight . Think he’s badly missed jack in last few weeks and his performances been well below the expectations he’s set now. No goals and I don’t think assists either.
Been playing well for Scotland though so I’ve been kept loyalty and he’s still in my dream team....need a couple of goals / assists tonigh though or he’s getting dropped

We certainly do.

And I thought he made a couple of uncharacteristic errors, losing possession last night. I suspect due to a little fatigue; he needs a breather soon.

Still, he's bloody brilliant.

Thought him and Jack were trying desperately hard to set each other up with nothing quite coming off 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞they’ve saved them all for Sunday’s trip to Man Utd

I would love to see SJM pushed alongside Jack and Wes.

How would that work?
Play 3 Centre Backs, with wingbacks
3-4-2-1?

Same as now with any 3 from Hourihane Luis Marvelous and Angela in midfield

Bit harsh on AEG. SJM has got enough energy to be able to support the front players from the midfield. May even help him to be running from deeper.

I would not mind a front 3 of SJM AEG and Jack.
McGinn is scoring goals for fun for Scotland and maybe our most natural finisher.

SJM is probably Scotland's main man at the moment and maybe that is why he hasn't shone so bright for Villa lately. If Jack carries on as he is we might have the same problem with him and England.
