How imaginative, I wouldn’t expect anything less.

He finally puts in a man of the match performance.
He’s suffered a terrible injury and been pretty mediocre for a long long time. Hopefully, this can be the start of something.

Excellent today and perhaps the kind of performance that made us shell out all that money for him.

Well done - long may it continue and credit to Emery who must have seen something in him to persevere with the Carlos at CB and Konsa at RB selection.

Again another one who improved with McGinn sitting in front of him defensively. The whole side of that pitch had pretty much been told to be tighter which even included Diaby back and helping out, which is probably why he wasn't as good offensively. But the second half tactical changes, especially when their players started to get frustrated and Baileys reputation meant they could free more going forward, especially when Zinchenko started to be shit.

He was very good yesterday. He even showed a bit of pace when needed something I was convinced he didn’t have. If he keeps up the same form in our remaining games I will have no complaints. Easily his best game for us in half a handful of decent games.

His best game for Villa by a large distance. The kind of performance I'd hoped he would give since he joined.

I think McGinn playing next to Tielemans was much better than Luiz next to Tielemans. McGinn has got much more tenacity than Doug, and provided a bit more solidity for the defence. Carlos looked a lot happier, any road.
