I went to buy tickets one day and he was in the shop signing copies - so I bought one. Also had a chat about the semi final against Anderlect when he was throwing his kit into the crowd after the game- I was at the front of the away section.

The book is a good read - but I didn't read all the bits about other clubs.

He was one of my favourite players from that era. I played right back and loved the way a nondescript utility forward became a very good (and underrated) defender. He is the best right back I have seen for us.

I read it a couple of months back. It is a good book. I think the best ex Villa player Villa books are McGrath's and Cascarino's. Followed by the ones written by Merson, McAvennie and Burridge. Also Gareth Southgate's 'Woody And Nord'.
