Sorry, bit flippant considering the subject matter. First part is a Billy Bragg lyric about Chernobyl. Second what my dad used to say whenever anybody said ' it's a small world'.

Keep battling Stan, you have the hopes and prayers of many, and the efforts of some hopefully great medics, on your side.

And to think how many of us used to comment on how he was knackered after 60 minutes every game - if only we had known then !

My best friends Dad had this and went from a fully fit and energetic bloke into man of about 7 stone and barely recognisable in 12 months

All the best Stan keep fighting and we all miss you

Indeed, Hookey. It was only the other week Lambert was quoted as saying Stan was probably the fittest player he'd ever known.

Happy birthday Stan and keep up the good fight. We're all with you.

there's a picture on the OS with him holding a cake. He looks like he's been through a battle already. Not the flowing locks as we are accustomed too. Very sad that he's having to go through this and great that he was able to stop into Bodymoor to see everyone. Keep fighting Stan and happy birthday.
