Home Away Home Away
« on: August 30, 2011, 11:26:33 AM »
I know this is probably low down on everyone's priorities at the moment, but does anyone know why our fixtures see us playing two home games on the bounce at home, instead of the normal home away rotation?

Also can anyone shed any light on the League Cup games now being played on Tuesdays instead of Wednesdays?

Everyone has to play the teams who are normally at home on the day as them twice in a season, so that's when the two in a row comes in.

So eloquently put.

What does it mean though?! :-)

It means that we are usually at home on the same day as nine other teams - Wolves being one. However, we have to play all nine of them at home and away at some stage, when the pairings break down.

Quite simply. you have to play your home games at home. Even though there would be more atmosphere if you played all home games away on account of Villa's marvelous away support, unfortunately rules is rules and they have to be played at home.

As long as I have been watching football the norm has been that the team that played at home in the opening game had two away to follow up and the team that played away first had two home games. The only difference is that the second game was always a midweek fixture.

Why not get rid of home and away completely and play all games in Asia ?
