Don’t really want his dad Steve around the club though.

That was the point of my comment - the misspellings in the last few messages (winky thing)!

Julian Joachim at 46 still plays for (or can when they start up again) Bourne Town in the United Counties league.

Nice kit !

It's easy to tell them apart though, one only plays to the right.

Bannan's had a good career for a player who looked at 18 like his next move would be Kidderminster Harriers.

At 18 he looked like his next move would be to get the bus to school!

There's a picture from a pre-season game he played in when he was about that age and whilst the angles didn't help him he looked barely taller than the advertising hoardings!

I liked JDH but I think he'd have suffered with the same issues as Conor has with us of just not having the physicality to cope with how we play.

I suspect the same is true of Jack Clarke who i thought looked a fantastic prospect as a 17-18 year old but who hasn't really progressed and has just gone out to chesterfield having been called back early from Yeovil where he couldn't get a game. I know this technically isn't the right thread for him but it might as well be, which is a shame.

I do wonder if we use the loan system well enough. I know likes of Chelsea abuse the loan system but they've also had a loan manager in there for a few years (it's Tor Andre Flo) who's remit is to find clubs who'll fit the style the kids have been developed in. Chelsea also have that club in Holland, they sent Mason Mount to play there when he was just 18.

When you look at our best prospects in last 15 years who broke through they all tended to go out on loan at that age. Cahill at Burnley, Grealish at Notts County and Weimann at Watford who quickly overtook the Fonz in the pecking order in 2011 who didn't go out on loan in the years before when he badly needed it.

Feels a bit odd to me when we've finally decided to loan out Revan given he's 21 and we can only find him a non league club. Would've thought they'd have been plenty of interest from the league against his performance v Liverpool.

Was a bizarre use of O'Hare aswell, only started loaning him out when he hit 20 and we'd wasted the previous 18 months when he just stayed to play the odd cup game.

Given our continual improvement over next few seasons it's going to get harder for talented youths to break through so really feels like an area we need to get better as likes of Louie Barry and Kesler are probably good enough to be loaned out to league 1 clubs this month if we want to do it. Loaning out Ramsey to Donny this time last year has shown the benefit of that.

Good points. The obvious one is Keinan, who has probably missed the boat now in terms of becoming a regular at Villa. He really needed to go out and play 40+ games somewhere, but now he's only going to get 5 or 10 minutes here and there with us and he's just not going to develop doing that.

We can still loan him out this window now he's fit and we get another striker in next two weeks. He certainly should've gone on loan in last 18 months.

I was hoping with him coming in from non league he'd have that hunger to go out and want to start 30-40 games in a season somewhere as Vardy apparently wanted to do that when he first joined Leicester and wasn't getting a run in the team but it all just feels a bit too comfortable, us regularly giving him new contracts every other season when he strings 5 sub cameos together so I think he knows deep down this is as good as it gets as another prem team wouldn't sign him if we let him go.

Really interested what we do with Kesler. Vibe seems to be we seem him as potentially good enough to be back up RB next season so seems ripe for a loan spell given he'll remain 3rd choice even if we loan out Gulibert this window.

Louie Barry I'll probably keep him around and give him some sub minutes in the run in and then do a season loan next season as plenty will be after him you suspect.

Cameron Archer will likely get a loan move to league club next season. Interested what Legion's view is on how we handle loans, do we sit down with players and go through clubs who'll fit their style or was it a case of Solihull on the blower and off you go son?

I think Purslow has said that getting our best young players loan moves at an earlier stage is one of the consistent strategies the club want to make happen.
