Not that I am not enjoying this Redsox Fan and Media Meltdown, but this article by someone from the Arayan Nation actually makes some good points about the current sox situation and why it is a big deal (and how the media isn't helping)

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7095696/the-collapse-red-sox

It is from one of the guys who started Fire Joe Morgan, which I always thought was funny.

Bill Simmons' Grantland.com is becoming one of my regular reads

Also, Dan Shaughnessy was very scathing about the whole Sox set up, including the owners involvement with Liverpool

Quote
Now we’ve all had enough with Roush Racing and Liverpool soccer. Yankee fans never had to worry about George Steinbrenner taking his eyes off the prize in the interest of building ships.

Try this on with your pink hat: On the final night of the regular season, while the Sox were playing in Baltimore, fighting for their playoff lives, virtual ads during the baseball broadcast reminded you to watch Liverpool-Wolverhampton the next day at 4 p.m. That’s the same time that the Sox would have been playing their one-game playoff against Tampa Bay on TBS.

Got that? On Thursday, Sept. 29, at 4 p.m., the geniuses at NESN wanted you to watch soccer - instead of a one-game playoff involving the Red Sox.

Consistent with this insult, NESN the next day cut away from analysis of a postmortem press conference featuring Terry Francona and Theo Epstein (remember them?) at Fenway. While NESN rival Comcast went knee-deep into analysis, the Sox flagship TV station went to soccer.

Wow.

Never thought I would say this, but I have to defend NESN on this one.

1) They didn't have the rights to the next sox game.  What should they do?  Not air the soccer game because the sox are on a different channel?

2) They had the liverpool game scheduled.  The Sox season was over.  Finished.  No analysis was bringing it back.  What analysis could be done (that hadn't been done already) that soon?  People may have been waiting to watch the liverpool game (I doubt it since everyone here is an arsenal fan anyway), but would it be fair to those people to cancel the scheduled program for a talking head nonsense forum?

Looks like the Rangers are headed to the Series!

Gonna be very tough to beat.  Especially at home.

Their lineup is so deep.

St Louis won last night, so its the Cardinals versus the Rangers in the Series.

I'll be rooting for Texas due to an irrational disliking of Tony LaRussa

Me too, Texas all the way for several reasons.. firstly Arlington is a great place and the Ballpark is quality and seeing those lovely Texan ladies smile always brightens my day up. Secondly, I don't like the Cards!

Texas could be making a game of it in the bottom of the 9th!

The Rangers did more than "make a game of it"

Great game by Elvis & Ian, both defensively and running the bases

I would LOVE for the Rangers to win

St. Louis is pretty much the favorite team of anyone in the midwest who lives in an area without a team.  For a long time, it was even the furthest pro team to the west, so people grow up Cards fans.

When we have a work meeting, I hear so much about the Cardinals that I don't know if I can handle them winning.

I think that this Pujols guy might have a future in the sport

http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2011_10_22_slnmlb_texmlb_1&mode=video

5 Hits, 4 Runs, 6 RBI, 3 Homers

Not a bad night's work

Although I'd prefer the Rangers to win, I'll be walking around Wembley this afternoon in my Pujols jersey

Meanwhile, the Rangers are one win away from winning the World Series
