Hope Root is ok, severe dehydration sounds pretty serious.
I'm as pessimistic about our chances going into an Ashes series as I've been for 15 years if I'm honest. I dont think we'll score the runs required and our attack looks weak without Stokes to back up Anderson and Broad. Personally I think we'll get hammered again. The only thing that gives me any optimism is the fact that this Aussie side really isn't all that, certainly as weak a batting line up as they've had in years. But home advantage and their pace attack will be too strong for us. 4-0 Australia.

It's been another really poor effort from a side who never really looked like they believed they could win and is unacceptable really. We were the cricketing equivalent of a football team who struggled to score and couldn't stop conceding.Problem is, I don't see where the players are who can come in and change things. Stokes will obviously make a difference when he returns, but apart from that? I wouldn't really be looking to make massive changes for NZ anyway (think it is a bit ridiculous we are going there after an Ashes series but money talks) and Stoneman, Vince and Malan have probably just about done enough to be given another chance. As for the bowling, I suppose Anderson and Broad continue and then it is two from Curran, Overton, Woakes if they are fit. As I said, we could probably do without going to NZ really and instead come back and get everyone fit and ready for the start of the season.
