What is the reason for the low number of games played by Hemmings this season? He appears to have hardly played at any level.
He's definitely not ready. You could see that in the few minutes he did get, outmuscled and apprehensive. Subbed at HT against either Arsenal or Leipzig I think.
Yeah, but he hasn't played for the U21's either ...

No idea… has he been exclusively training with the full squad rather than jumping between the U21 and first team squad?

Strikes me a loan is needed next seas9n where he plays 30 games and given some license to push himself/make mistakes.

My understanding is that young players often spend a period with the first team before their first loan.

It gets them used to training, match days, the schedule, etc. Making a loan transition easier.

It’s different for every player and what the club think is best for their next step.

Be good to see him go out on loan to a Championship club or decent League One club next season.  Get him some proper competitive game time.

I wouldn't even consider sending Hemmings lower than the Championship -he's that good.
