I've said all along that Liverpool aren't all that. Only reason they are close to us is because we've been wank this year.

spent north of £400m and gone backwards. Imagine if Unai was able to spend that much.

We'd be the proud owner of the largest turnip in Europe.

Maybe I am old fashioned but I think this manager deserves a bit more respect.

I admire your sang froid. But Unai is having a total stinker. And pointing out that our transfer dealings are part of the problem is hardly sacrilegious. I wouldn’t trust him with a fiver if your money, let alone 400m of the club’s.

One of greatest managers was called a Turnip by a stinking piece of shit rag. So whilst there is many ways to state he might waste the money, the T word is not the best for some of the fans here.

Agreed.

No Villa fan should ever use that term about anyone at Villa, even if they were worse than Bingo.

And we have no idea how Unai would do with that kind of money here as he never gets the chance to show us. Every transfer window is a battle against the rules which means any failure is magnified. I doubt we'll ever find out how he'd do either, even if he's here another 5 years.
I'm pretty confident we'd be a lot better if he could spend a good chunk each season though.

Malen again!

They lost again though, dropping into the Conference League position. I read (on here I think) that they only have to buy him if they qualify for Europa League or higher. To be honest, I’d welcome him back.

Of course, assuming they can afford him, they might buy him wherever they finish as he’s done pretty well.

They’ll be buying him regardless of obligation I suspect.

Just thinking back on today. We might make the CL top 5 in a similar fashion to why Spurs probably stay up. Because Liverpool and Chelsea are every bit as wasteful of their opportunities to overtake us as Forest and West Ham will not be able to do enough to condemn Tottenham. It’s a bit weird at the top and bottom.

Difference is there's a chance 6 points would be enough for Spurs. We need a good chunk more than that. Which we currently don't look capable of getting.

Yep, look what he has done with players he has and little money vs those around us, we don’t know for sure if having £400m would be spent well but it won’t do us any harm. Seriously, if you think him having more cash won’t get us to that next level where we seriously compete, then we may as well give up.

Diego Carlos scored the winner for Como v Roma!

It’s absolutely fine to be upset even angry at the current run. Be critical of his tactics or purchases. But be constructive. To call him a turnip or any other name is beyond obnoxious.

I thought the turnip was a Blackadder reference, not calling Emery one.
