How the other half live!

I've just seen Charli XCX whilst I was putting the bins out.

More impressed by Strachan, I'll be honest.

She was actually with Strachan when I saw her. They're a couple now. Not common knowledge, unless you live round these parts.

Apparently she makes him tell her the story of his funny 'can't scale the hoardings' goal celebration from 1986 on loop, she's that besotted with him.

Oh fair enough. She's done well for herself, there.

Dion's a good guy. Like the "do people outside the club respect us" question as so many players say they don't realise how big we are until they play for us. This is why it's brilliant having Emery manage us as we are slowly changing those perceptions with each season.

He shouldn't have started THAT cup final though. Too soon after his neck injury. Joachim and Carbone were a better combination that season.

The thing that jumps out at me is that  DiMatteo lived in Leamington while playing for Chelsea. Surely that can't be right?

It is.

I have lived in Leamington for 20 years and have seen him in town multiple times over the years. First time i saw him was when we'd recently moved here and I thought, what the fuck is he doing living here. Googled him, and he did. And continued to do so.

I have also seen Dion around quite a lot until 5 or 6 years ago.

One time, I was behind him in the queue at Starbucks and when they asked him his name (to write it on the cup) I was going to make a "your name's on the cup" style quip to him but bottled it.

Similarly, another football celeb i have seen here a few times is Gordon Strachan. I shared a lift with him (in the Royal Priors car park) and couldn't quite build up the courage to suggest that in his hey day he'd have scampered up those stairs in no time.

I've also seen Ian Beale from Eastenders several times, I believe his wife at the time was from Leamington.

And also Tim Flowers (in Waterstones), Tony Mowbray (outside Waterstones, though not at the same time) and Ben Foster (at the self-pay tills at M&S food last year).

I saw big Tyrone in leamington a few weeks ago and have heard that he lives there now.
