There often comes a point in a bad run where at least the performances (if not the results) show SOMETHING is developing; where it's just not quite clicking - but we're not even getting that right now.

Dean got 10 games.  I don't see Gerrard getting 10 games unless we pull off a shock against Arsenal or Man City. It's more than likely we'll be one win from 6 and in the bottom 3 by next Sunday, which might be enough for them to pull the trigger.  I suppose they might give him another fortnight and the Leicester and Southampton fixtures up to the first international break, and six points there could well give him some breathing room. An upset win against Arsenal or Man City will buy him until the World Cup as minimum.  I've always said you should give a new manager a full year before making a change, and I don't think it would be the end of the world if he got the requisite 10 games this season, as long as the next appointment is, finally, the right one.

But for me, we need to see an improvement in the performances.  I can accept a defeat where it looks like we've been threatening for periods. Where you can look back and say we were a bit unlucky, and "we win that game 8 times out 10 in normal circumstances", but right now we're not even getting that.
