Injury Thread

Is the squad pretty much fully fit now?

I read Barkley starts full training on Monday and weren’t Onana and Pau on the bench before the international break?

Regardless, I thought this might be a useful to have a single thread rather than monitor injuries across numerous player’s threads.

Good luck with that with certain posters.

This is a great initiative I’ve often thought of having a specific injury thread.

Great idea Dante. Yes I believe Barkley is back in full training on Monday meaning we're in the rare position of having a full squad for the final 9 league matches and a potential 8 more cup games. Unai can now afford to rotate the squad while keeping us very strong on the pitch. I think we will go full tilt at every game now. This has the potential to be the best run in to the end of the season in donkeys years. Exciting times in old B6.

Yep, the only injury worries from the international break were Watkins, who is fit for tomorrow, and Barkley who is ready to rejoin training, it's going to be weird after the year we've had.

What I find more interesting is how many of the injuries in the squad have been hamstring and calf related in the last couple of years. Those 2 are always a problem area in top level sport but they seem to account for well over half of all the injuries we get and they're also top of the list for fatigue related injuries.

Really, we should have had once since the early 00s when the forum became more user-friendly. If we'd have done so maybe we wouldn't have lost so many Heroes along the way.

My back is a bit stiff after demolishing a shed so I won’t be watching the Preston game in the pub. Not sure if that counts but if Unai were to call me then I’d make the bench.

That might prove a bit trickier now that you've demolished your shed.

Hope it wasn't a men's shed. They've become important outlets for gents that struggle to express their feelings or make pals so it would be a setback if you've cannabilised one of them.
