Hopkins was a member of the ultra-violent team that Ron Saunders put together when he was manager at the Sty. There was a name for five of that team who liked to go around town, looking for Villa fans and the occasional pinch-up, but I can't remember what it was.

Word was that Ron brought in Des Bremner for his obvious qualities as a player, but also as a calming influence on the head-cases.

Any chance of a little bit of respect please?

Sorry but just like the twat that hit Grealish i only have sympathy for their families for their loss - the individuals wont be missed

I don't normally buy a programme but on this occasion I did and there was a very low-key mention of his passing - I wonder why that was....

I've had the pleasure of meeting Des and what a pleasant man he was. An absolute credit to himself and Scotland.

Saw him make his full debut at Notts County, if memory serves me correctly Tony Barton dropped Tony Morley and Hopkins started- we lost 4-1

Terrible Villa performance

RIP
I was also at that game, an absolute shocker. Saw Hopkins play a few times, definitely had an edge to him. RIP
