Good enough for Championship title challenge?
« on: June 22, 2020, 04:32:25 PM »
Looking to next season if the worst happens and we drop back down to the Championship, what players do we have that are good enough. Last time we dropped I like many others thought some of the players not good enough at Premier League level would look a lot better a division below. It turns out a lot of those players (Bakuna for example) actually didn't benefit from the drop down at all and were equally poor.

I am looking at the squad and wondering who will shine at that level.

Top notch at Championship level - Grealish, Mings, McGinn, Luiz, Heaton. Sadly I think we will struggle to keep many of them.

Good at Championship level - Hause, Engels, Guilbert, Samatta, El Ghazi I think will all be good performers if we drop.

Squad filler - Hourihane, Targett, Elmo, Nakamba, Davis, Trezeguet, Nyland, Steer.

Not good enough - Wesley, Taylor, Baston, Kalinic.

Sure I have missed a few off, but not at all confident that lot will get us back up if we lose too many from the top group.

I actually think Wesley might be decent a level down.
