not been on for awhile due to working on you know what, but I have just bought this for £30 on Amazon.

Really looking forward to reading it.

Warning - don't start reading it thinking you'll just do a few pages before something more important. Next thing you know the sun will be rising and you've lost an entire day.
I agree. I was born after that era - have a photo of me, 3 weeks old, watching the European Cup final. Even without living through it, it's a great book, probably my favourite about the Villa.

The only criticism, raised on here before, was that having said in the introduction that history rarely fits neatly in to decades, it stops just before the more obvious finishing point of the European Cup win. Know the reason for that, but given the prices it's going for is there any chance of Richard Whitehead being convinced to write a second edition that includes the 80/81 and 81/82 seasons?

I've asked him many a time but he's never got round to it. The best place for a reprint to end would be the Bolton game in 1978-80, after the EGM and with ten of the fourteen involved.
