World Gymnastics Championships
« on: November 02, 2022, 09:09:44 PM »
Dunno if any of you care but local lad Joe Fraser pulled out a couple of phenomenal routines this evening on parallel bars and high bar to help GB to a bronze medal in the team competition after they were lying dead last at the halfway stage. This after he had a nightmare on the pommel horse. He scored 15.000 on the parallel bars, if you don't know much about gymnatics scoring, let me assure you that this is a massive score, good enough to win gold medals in Olympic Games. GB now automatically qualify for the Paris Olympics.

A World Championship bronze in the men's team competition to go with a silver from the women's team, which included Alice Kinsella (Mark's daughter) from Sutton, is an achievement which would have been unthinkable a few years ago. Gymnastics in this country has come a very long way in a relatively short space of time. It's a shame it is a sport which has been blighted by questionable methods used by some coaches.

I ended up watching it by accident with the kids. They were really interested which was good. There were some really impressive performances all round.

A  not too shabby performance by one of the GB Women to finish off with.

Can't stand gymnastics but hope Mark Kinsella's daughter does well.
