Returning loan players
« on: October 03, 2018, 01:46:55 PM »
How do we stand with loan players? Because, hopefully, when we are rid of Bruce, we can reduce some of the expense also and get a good coach to coach what we have

McCormack and Elphick are both worth a chance under a better manager.

You could always lob a cabbage at him.  Or a pie.

Isn't Elphick's contract up at the end of the season?

How do we stand with loan players? Because, hopefully, when we are rid of Bruce, we can reduce some of the expense also and get a good coach to coach what we have

Specifically you are talking about
Bolaise
Moreira
Tuanzabe
Abraham
El Ghazi

Who is it you like to send back? basically loan could be cancelled at any  time if both clubs agree .

Say new manager didn't have time or past history their could be a situation there however I generally feel manager and even more so a head coach would know how to work with loan players who are representative of Aston villa for season 18/19 and work with them

Also in January transfer window and only if the two clubs have agreed a recall clause in advance can players return. That could be as much as having not been given match minutes or a transfer offer from another club or even that parent club want them in their first team squad. I imagine all these players apart from the GK  Moreira  first team candidates and as to why they were brought in. Or at least pushing and vital quality for squad numbers.

And Moreira will be interesting depending if Mendes has input with new manager and also a client

So are you saying you like some of these players to leave and villa recall some of own loan players ?

I wouldn't be that upset if all of the loans were sent back in January especially if it meant addressing problems in other areas. Looks like the new guy is going to be hamstrung till then at least.

playing people in position will help as will a couple of freebies as a short term fix. Terry coming back as assistant head coach would help hugely in restoring leadership and discipline.
