Sir Graham Taylor

This Saturday is a chance for Villa and Watford fans to show their appreciation.

For us Villains the story began on 18th May 1987.

I remember him coming over to the packed corner terrace at Swindon on promotion day, hoping this was going to be the start of something special and so it proved.

I remember him outside the old Wembley stadium early in his England reign after a friendly with Argentina, having all the time in the world to sign autographs and have his photo taken with fans. A true gentleman.

Well I just checked and at present there are still around 14500 tickets available. This is with the upper Holte, Trinity, North and Doug Ellis stands all closed for the game.

I imagine that puts the gate at sub-10000. If it stayed like that it'd be a pathetic turnout for the guy who stopped us doing a Wolves in the late-1980s.
