Just a thought, this weekend we have won

Football, Cricket,  Rugby Union, Rugby League and F1 in 26 hours.

You can add Golf to the list, England's Matt Wallace won the BMW International in Germany and going into the final round Paul Casey leads by 4 shots in the latest USPGA tour event.

We beat an average South American football team and a poor cricket team from the Southern Hemisphere......we need better opposition!

Yes I mean for number of victories it’s good, but those victories in combination are less in important than England winning the 2003 rugby World Cup for instance, or GB’s ‘super Saturday’ in the London Olympics. Those were English or British competitors reaching the top of their sports.

I'd say actually winning something is more important, so either the Football or Rugby World Cup wins.

If you're talking about quantity rather than quality, it must be one of the best. We're talking about 6 sports here and quite possibly that maybe the first time it has happened on a weekend.

Far from it, Saturday August 4 2012 remains the greatest day in English sport.
