M5 Oldbury Viaduct
« on: August 04, 2017, 06:48:58 PM »
What's the M5 northbound J3 to J1 been like since the roadworks started on the Oldbury viaduct ?

That's my normal route to VP, so I was wondering whether to give it a go or drive through town instead

The alternative route recommended by The Highways Agency is round the M42, so that ain't happening

The contraflow is now in place, 30mph limit so it's pretty slow with rush hour tailbacks to Halesowen. I'd get off there, J3, down the Hagley Road and turn off at the Ivy Bush for the ring road.

That's the route my mates from Bromsgrove take to VP.

I'd probably come off and follow the A38 all the way in to the Matalan roundabout.

Get off at 3 and go up the Hagley Road if I were you.

OK, I'll head in as if I'm picking you up on the way but with the advantage of not actually picking you up on the way ;)
