I take it then that nobody has a clue why?
I,for one, really would like to know.

Feng shui?

Another new board member? Maybe he's a pitch specialist?

To be fair, we have been getting battered by the elite teams on our pitch for years and the large expanse is probably a contributing factor. With the way things are, it may be a good time to implement a fundamental change

Traore has a 'distance covered' clause in his contract. The reduced pitch size is so that he can cover enough ground to trigger it.

I seem to recall the Permier League wanting to standardize pitch sizes, is that also the case in the Championship?

There is but at premier league and ours was always above the minimum which I never really understood given how rubbish we are at home.

Been suggesting narrowing the pitch for years but surprised we've done it on relegation as surely we'll win some more home games regardless this season.

Maybe the players want to be further away from the fans when the going gets tough.

I don't think this pitch will get far on Dragons Den. We need something better than this to get any money out of them.
