walk on with filthy lucre ?
« on: May 29, 2015, 08:12:57 PM »
Maybe its just me and my memory is deluded  :-[

does anyone else remember doing "walk on" with banknotes instead of scarves away at Liverpool back in the early 80's, cant remember exact year but think it was a 1 - 1 game..

As I remember it, the whole country was in recession, but Merseyside was one of the worst affected places, and that was the premise for the wind-up..
Funny as fuck at the time though  :)

Yes, got a feeling it happened more than once as well, early nineties.

A car load of us waved notes at a car load of Liverpool fans on the way to a game at Anfield in the early nineties. The did the same back to us. We probably had about forty quid each on us. They all looked like they had robbed a bank. We had to concede defeat on that one.
