1997-98 full season review

The most exciting summer ever it seemed at the time thanks to the Collymore signing. Lots of great moments mixed in with the odd disaster here and there but from  Feburary onwards what I still think is our best end of season run in the Premier League era.

Remember how excited I wad about this season, but we never really got over such a bad start.  As loved as he was at Villa, I'm not sure he'd have stopped up had Brian Little stayed for the season.

Uefa cup run was very exciting back when the competition wasn't a joke. Pushed Atletico very close in the quarters.

What a good player Ian Taylor was aswell btw...not just for the fan thing but he popped up in that uefa cup run with crucial goals aswell as in the league.

Good find.

I had never really paid a great deal of attention to Fernando Nelson (weird barnet aside) but he was involved in a fair few of our goals, judging by that.

Looked pretty sharp in the tackle too.

A world away from our current shitebags in those positions.

Even Collywobbles looked a bit lively in that opening part of the season, which is not how I remember it at all.
