Dennis Jackson

Dennis died last week, aged 82. He only played eight first team games but was involved with the Old Stars for decades. He was a nice guy, who came up with the quote I've used about Ron Atkinson on many occasions, "I played with Ron in 100 reserve games. And according to Ron he was man of the match in at least 99 of them." Dennis was one of the 14 man squad for the 1957 cup final. "I looked at them as they were in the tunnel, Bobby Charlton, Duncan Edwards, Tommy Taylor, the lot and I thought 'We've got no chance here.'  Shows how much I know".

RIP Dennis.
