Paul Lambert has made an official complaint about referee Kevin Friend following Aston Villa’s controversial defeat at Chelsea.

Fucking too right an all!
If a Ref's going to scared of giving decisions for Villa because of the press and the managers getting on their case then Lambo's now showing them that If you Don't give us the fair treatment we deserve you're going to be getting it in the neck and he'll kick up a fuss, so their performance gets scrutinized.
Go on Lambo son!

Probably been said before but I honestly think that when referees make decisions like Friend's they need to come out into the open and explain why. Not be interrogated, but simply explain why they gave the decision they did, to inform and educate all involved.
We all know the rule about elbows - players, managers, fans, refs.
Then Friend breaks those rules and does something different.
Surely it makes sense for him to explain why he did that in this instance! Why didn't he follow standard procedure?
With the best of intentions it would make everything clearer for all of us! We're the paying customers ffs, and players and coaches need to know what the rules are and how they are applied.
Rocket Science it ain't!

I think they should do it in the game like american football. You might not agree with the decision but at least you get an explanation.

I think Friend should come out...be put on a podium...blindfolded...given his last cigarette...then executed by firing squad.
That may be a little harsh. Or maybe not.
At the very least he should be strapped to a chair, have his eyes winched open, Clockwork Orange style, and be made to watch Made In Chelsea for 3 days straight, uninterrupted. Then we'll see just how much he loves Chelsea after that.

I only managed to watch the first half, therefore missing the miscarriages of justice. Can anyone please provide links for clips of the assault/penalty incident as it's a pain to search on my phone on crap wifi?

John Terry has previous against us regarding goalkeeping duties. I seem to remember 4 or 5 years ago, at the Witton End, Terry did a
two-handed
deflection and nothing was given. Distinct memory of him angling his upper body diagonally to make the stop (a serpentine movement appropriate for JT ). Perhaps the blatancy of it generated incredulous disbelief on the part of the ref? Can any keepers of the flame verify this or is it a false memory based on a player's reptilian reputation?
