No doubt that McGrath is the best player I've seen at Villa....but better than Bergkamp and/or Cantona? No Way.

He was miles better than the pair of 'em.

Total garbage.

Nope, not total garbage.  Check out McGrath beating World Champs Italy single-handedly.  On his day McGrath was from another planet.  I'll grant you Bergkamp could produce flashes of brilliance at the very highest level, but he had a very talented supporting cast of Dutch players around him.

As for Cantona, a great player at club level who seemed to go missing at higher levels.

Look at what Arsenal won with Bergkamp and didn't win without Bergkamp.

A pretty poor argument unless you think David Geddes and Tommy Johnson were better players for Villa than Billy Walker or Pongo Waring.

Since Bergkamp left, Man City have come to the fore and Arsenal have been forced to sell most of their best players. I think the loss of Fabregas, Nasri, van Persie, Toure and so on may also have affected Arsenal's chances of trophy glory. That and deciding to play a blind goalkeeper against Small Heath.

McGrath was a good as any of them in England and International Level. Only Baresi was better of his peers at the time.

He head Baggio in his pocket that day in New York and kept Gianinni quiet 4 years early when in M/F.

Genius in my book.

Anyone care to name a better defender who has played in England over the last 25 years?

Better defender than McGrath? After OJ's solicitor I'm struggling.

He would piss all over Gerrard in midfield and as for Henry well another one in his pocket. He may have struggled once or twice v messi

Le Tiss was the only player to get the better of him more than once

How the hell did Gerrard win that?

Of course I think God should have won it but if he didn't how the hell can you say that Bergkamp is not as good as Gerrard?
