Are you sure it was 1887? We played Queens Park on Easter Monday 1888, in the last game we played against them. In 1887 we played them on January 1st (or rather our reserves did) then at Cathkin Park on January 3rd, when the match was abandoned after a riot.

Any idea what caused the riot dave, out of curiosity?

I love that Mellberg picture. Not only is it iconic, it must have pissed off Blues fans no end. The best they could offer was a clapped out full back giving a wanker sign.
