I understand the discussion about Lowton's goal v Benteke's but as a Goal of the Season, Benteke's against albion was better than both.

Still lowtons for me just shading weimanns at anfield.

Such a subjective thing this isn't it. My all time favourite premier league goal was Van Persie's away at Charlton because it was a great counter attacking move finished with a super volley mid air on the run. So it had a bit of everything for me, except the Villa of course. Others probably think that goal was just ok, if they even remember it. It probably wasn't even that year's goal of the season

I agree it's totally subjective, for me Bergkamp vs Newcastle is the best goal ever scored in the premier league, it was a moment of pure inspiration from one of the best players of his generation, I can't think of another player who would've even attempted to flick the ball past his man like that, let alone pull it off.  I generally prefer the goals that are all about technique than the 30 yard screamers, so I normally prefer the 'team goals' (my favourite of all time is 'that' goal from brazil in 1970) but Lowton deserves every bit of praise he's getting because it's a technically perfect goal.

Bergkamp v leicester was a great goal.

What about Luc Nilis' "flick" goal ?

NB - the video also contains Luc's injury but it was the best footage of the goal I could find

In Daves contribution to today's Express and Star he describes Benteke's goal and I quote his words 'netted with a tap in'.

Its funny how people see things in different ways isnt it?

Must be something about Newcastle and flicking balls past defenders but this one always sticks in my mind form Matt Le GrandHooter.
