What a cold and wet April day that was! I can vividly recall the sense of anti-climax afterwards when the Ipswich result came through. Three great goals and such cherished Villa memories.

Great viewing, never get tired of the Withe goal and his celebration.

I remember being at that game and a rumour sweeping the Holte End that Ipswich had lost their game that day, meaning we would have been league champions. As it happened it wasn't much longer we had to wait.

Big Dick Edwards, exactly the same thoughts, though was at Highbury when the legend that is Bosko Jankovic scored his goals for  Middlesborough while Villa were pants. Great days

I left a wedding reception at the Belfry to get the second half of this game.
On my return I wandered in, took a glass of bubbly and found I did not recognise anyone...different wedding party!
My lot had moved on...
Happy days (I soon found 'em)

Was that not the last home game that season?

I remember being on the train bak to New Street in a carriage full od 'Boro skinheads. Terrified to speak to my mate as I thought we'd get the crap kicked out of us!!

Family outing that day. The Villa cubs did some quality deals in those days. As they do now.

It was the last home game, last game was at Highbury the following week. We were superb that day (not Highbury lol)
