1. Before Villa go out second half Vlaar’s teamtalk “if it’s not on, just keep passing it”

Gabby says that, not Ron.

Gabby says that, not Ron.

Which is even more encouraging in my book.

Before the game 2 young city fans working for me gave it large champions bollocks etc and villa you are shit bollocks. Anyway this morning nothing, no acknowledgement until we had a team meeting which I started with you tube review of last night match!

Plus I got my own back getting to move archiving to outside storage in horrible rain for 2 young lads!

Anybody remember this?

Quote
Houllier said: “First of all, you play against a bigger team than ours. Sorry, Manchester City at the moment, and this is our challenge for the future, are above us.”

Houllier then admitted that they could have nicked a draw at Eastlands before confessing that he did not much fancy a replay, presumably with Premier League survival still at stake.

He said: “I thought we could have a draw there and if you draw you have to replay. That means you play Saturday, Wednesday, Monday and maybe Saturday. You have to take that into consideration.”

Houllier was then asked if he thought his strongest team could have beaten Manchester City. His answer will shock Villa fans and should set alarm bells ringing at both Premier League and FA headquarters.

Houllier’s response: “No. Honestly, no. It would have been difficult. I knew they would put their best side out and their squad is better than ours, but look at the figures. Look at the players they have.”

Just read this from Lambert, pre-match:

Quote
“I’m pretty sure we’ll have a good following going up there, so it’s not something I want to take lightly.

“I’ll try and pick a team that can go and win, I don’t want to just go up there and just think we’re going to get beat. Too many people come to watch us to do that so we have to try and get through.”

Just what we needed. Thanks Lambert&Co.

So far i've had all the Man City reserves bollocks from fans of lesser Midlands club, one also tried to claim we took 189 fans. I'm waiting for a reply when I posted this and said does that look like 189?

And there were more of us.  To the right of the picture, right at the back out of sight.  Perhaps another 20 or so.

Good to see Gabby on fire again. I think he has to start against WBA. He's good in derby's normally. On that sort of form he's our best forward IMO.

Also loved the reaction to CNZ scoring. It clearly meant a lot to him and he seems a popular player amongst his teammates. Hopefully he can come good this season. There's talent there. He just needs a big shot of confidence.
