Don't think i've seen this posted on here before. Only 14,000 at the game just over 2 years after we were champions of Europe.

I was at the game v Man U when he was presented to the fans on the pitch. My first trip to Villa Park, never to be forgotten.

I watched that with the sound down at first and thought Withe had a two portions of Fish and Chips.
I'd forgot about the bags of sweets thing.

Is that a young Chris Woods in goal for Norwich?

That is Chris Woods in goal. It was Steve Foster's last game for us. Slightly more importantly it was also Dennis Mortimer's last game for us too. I'm trying to remember what the away kit was that season. Was it the white one with yellow hoops?

That was the season before. the 84/85 away kit was an all white shirt but with a horizontal contra-shadow.

I have highlights from ITV where Villa played Arsenal at Highbury, wearing that white kit. It had sky blue numbers on the back, which were difficult to read. I'll have to burn to disc sometime and put it up. It's on for about 20mins.

I hated that kit and still do. It was the first time since supporting the club that the home shirt didn't have what for me are the requisite light blue sleeves.

However the 84-85 version with white shorts was for me  an improvement on the  claret shorted monstrosity of 83-84.
