The only player i've ever seen in a Villa shirt that I would say was truely 'world class'.

McGrath was world class, no doubt about it, but I'll tell you what, I think Gordon Cowans was up there too.  That season we were runners up under Sir Graham Taylor, Sid and Macca ran the show.  The two best players I have seen, in the flesh, playing for any club.

What about Cruyff? He was great against us. Juventus had some good 'uns as well.

Agree about Sid and Macca being world class though.

Best player I have seen in 40 odd years of watching the club, absolutely superb.

Couldn't agree more

only remember seeing him have one shocker for villa in his years here, dean saunders ran him ragged at the baseball ground that day but macca was far and away the best player ive seen in the last 35 yrs at the villa - met him in 1990 at the makita tournament at wembley and a true gent too.
