the comentator for the BBC said "I can't understand why there are so many empty seats today at Villa Park for this local derby".
Can anyone enlighten them/him?????? ::)

There was a complete block of away seats empty as well as plenty of Villa seats.
I don't think the 12:05 KO helped much and Wolves were showing the game on a big screen a Moleniux by all accounts.
3 home games in 8 days is a bit much for some people. I'm lucky with a season ticket but there are plenty who can't do the season ticket.

I don't think there is one big reason, just several reasons. Add together the fans staying away because of the managerial appointment (how many is anyones guess) + fans staying away due to player sales/only two new signings + those on holiday, + those who didnt go because of lack of money or the kick off time or the fact it was on Sky or the fact it was the third home game of the week. It was 8,000 down on last season but that was a Sat 3pm and albeit for the wrong reasons it was a crucial game.

There is one big reason-Sky T.V. 12.00 Sunday morning. It would have been nearer 40k on a Saturday at 3.00.
I do not understand why that is so hard to fathom.

It was  such a good game -I forgot what day it was. Point still stands.

A few years ago I wouldn't have missed it for the world. I never even considered going. I was busy anyway and my lads were otherwise engaged, but even so I feel alienated from the club right now and 90% sure it was going to be a pile of shit.
