Because it was an unofficial competition. If it were official, the War League would count as well, and Birmingham City would have won a league championship. The universe could not survive such upheaval.

And that's where the phrase "God help us if there's a war" originated from.

There is a photo in the Legends Lounge proclaiming Villa as the first Birmingham club to win the Birmingham Senior Cup.

Which is correct as the four previous winners were Tipton, Wednesbury Old Athletic (twice) and Shrewsbury Town.
