Im not completely sure its just a case of presuming we'd be in that group instead of Rapid, would'nt we be higher seeds than Rapid so the whole draw would've been different? I could be wrong though

Rapid were seeded in Pot 4 - we would've been seeded in Pot 2 I think, so it would be completely different.

It's all gone to pot.

What a f*cking shame. I really can't understand why the club apparently has no appetite for playing teams like this. At worst it's great experience for the players, at best we might even win the competition. Surely it would benefit our better players to be testing their mettle against a wide variety of players and styles, and we might just get to see some entertaining football. Perhaps the new man will have more of an interest in European competition.

I think the root of the problem is that so much hype goes on the CL that the Europa Cup seems to be a poor second. If you saw the way the Vienna players reacted at full time, it certainly means something to them.

Also from a PR point of view us staying in the Europa is good for our profile. Also a lot of people who work weekends love the night matches.

I'd love for us still to be in this competition even though it has been watered down obscenely over the years.  Oh well.

I may not be popular for saying this, but perhaps if the fans treated the match last night as important, perhaps the players would have played like it meant something. Not making any excuses for them, but perhaps they subconciously felt it was not worth bothering when there were 11-12k empty seats last night.

Best off out of it, we can't cope with one game a week at the moment never mind two. Last night was a blessing in disguise...
