Just remembered Scott Hogan. Isn't 'indescribably awful' just a little harsh. He was a bit out of his depth but always at least tried to do something when he was here

Steve Sidwell played for Brentford early in his career loaned out from his first club Arsenal.
Warren Aspinall played for Brentford towards the end of his career.
Leslie Smith played for us after WW2 (I saw him playing for the old stars in the 1960s alongside the likes of Dixon and Lynn). We signed him from Brentford and after about 6 years he went back to them.
